Refunding Pre-tax Benefits
Content
We need to refund pre-tax benefits to some of our employees due to various reasons (HSA refunds for not opening an account, back dated life events that already processed through payroll, etc.) Our current adjustment element is set to take taxes pre-tax. However, when pre-tax benefits are refunded they need to be taxed. How are others handling this situation? Did you have to create a new element based of if it is a charge or refund due to the taxation piece? Any insight would be appreciated.
