Possible to change the Cross Reference of Compensation Plan that has been posted back.

This is a really odd question, I know. Bear with me.
I would like to change the cross reference in a compensation plan that was posted back last year. So far I have not been able to do it.
I have check the Subject to Refresh and unchecked it in the column I want to edit. I have ensured that the cycle worksheet editable dates are appropriate. I have run the refresh multiple times in various ways.
I know this is a long shot but I thought I would at least ask. Aside from pulling the posted data, is there any way to edit a submitted worksheet??
