Update OFSC standard status based on custom field change- Trigger message scenario based on custom fields

Dears,

I would like to set activity standard status to "cancelled" when custom property "SubStatus" has been changed to "Reject and Cancel".

Is it possible to trigger message scenario based on custom field change and modify activity status.

Any help would be appreciated.

Note: I believe using subscription we can achieve this behaviour but looking for some inputs related to triggerring message scenario based on custom fields.
