Fast Formula to prevent Salary Change Life Event at New Hire

Content

Looking for any examples for a fast formula that someone is using to prevent the salary change life event from being triggered at new hire.  The Data Change for life event is set up but only has the option of none-any or any to any which means that any time someone is hired their salary shows changed because it is 0 to something.  We want to not have this triggered but thus far i haven't been able to get a formula to work on excluding new hires from the salary change life event.
