Is it possible to mask or hide certain values in the drop down LOV for expense item types so certain employees cannot select them?

We'd like to create specifically-named expense item types for our corporate travel account transactions that are imported via Amex to employee expense reports. For example, we'll have an expense item type called "Firm Paid Airfare - Staff" and we don't want this value to show up in the list of values when employees enter manual expense item lines to select accidentally.
