AR Receipt Unapply Application - reapplied, but won't post to ledger

An AR Reciept was edited (Unapply Application, Add Application) and now won't post

We had a receipt which partially applied in Dec 2018, and when we tried to apply the balance it we were trying to get it to post to a closed period, which it would not.

So I opened the receipt and used Unapply Application to delete the application lines from the closed period (since we could not just change the Accounting Date) and then used Add Application to apply receipt to the same invoices in a later (open) accounting period.

But the Post to Ledger function on the receipt failed (see attached image) with a message of, "
