How is your integration setup to accomodate rehires and their email addressess?

For example, we have 500 interns starting this summer.  When an intern is hired, their personal email turns into our company email address.

After the internship program, they become "Former Employees" with a company email.

Upon return for the following summer maybe 50 rehires, we onboard but noticed all correspondence go to the company email address instead of personal email address. In order to accomodate issue, integration modifies company email with personal email once "Former Employee".

Issue now is if a "Former Employee" was assigned to any onboarding tasks, it will send them an email to their personal email regardless if Taleo user account is inactive or active.
