    We recently noted that some journal with source of "AutoCopy" were showing Approval Status as "Not Required". We found that the JE Source had been set to False for "Require Journal Approval" since the beginning of our implementation. However up until recently, despite the source having been set to False for "Require Journal Approval", the AutoCopy Journals we still going for approval. According to this MOS article, this was as per design.

    However something change, most likely in 19A, that caused the AutoCopy behavior to change. Now, since we had this source set to False for Approval, it started bypassing approval. So when previously the Require Approval flag was being ignored (as per design), it stopped being ignored.
