Summary

Enable Attachment Security at User Level for Self Service Procurement

Content

Introduction:

The seeded Procurement Requester has access to the attachment categories, such as, To Approver, Internal to Requisition, To Supplier, To Buyer, To Receiver and Miscellaneous.

Business Problem:

Often we receive inquiries from customers asking how we can hide these attachment categories so that users have access to one or two categories relevant to business.

Solution:

In this article, I will talk about how to leverage attachment category security to implement these requirements.

As you are aware, database resources are secured using data security policies that specify the roles that can perform a specified action on an object, and the conditions under which the action can be carried out. To illustrate the concept, I have a simple use case that demonstrates configuring a new data security policy that will grant users access to a specific type of attachment category (e.g. Miscellaneous) while hiding the rest. Please refer the attached document for more details.
