Federal Nonperiodic Tax Method for Canada

Summary

Which one is everyone using? Regular Bonus Calculation or Year to Date Bonus Calculation

Content

Hi All,

When defining the Federal tax Calculation Components on the Calculation Component Detail for Federal Tax during configuration, I was wondering which Federal Nonperiod Tax method everyone is using and why.

Our current system calculates using the Regular Bonus Calculation which matches to the PDOC values.

It was recommended to us to use the Year to Date Bonus Calculation which gives a more accurate Federal Tax calculation.

The test case was an employee who was on leave and returned Mid-March and I wasn't able to match the PDOC tax to HCM using the YTD calculation.
