Career Development - can I update person profiles (competencies) from Tasks within development goals

Hi,

We currently have not upgraded to the enhanced Talent Profiles, however, I thought that I had read some time back that there was a way with enhanced profiles -- using Tasks to update directly the Person Profile ?     I have searched for the Post but cannot seem to find.

Does anyone have experience with updating competencies using the tasks within Development Goals ?
