Exclusion of certain multi-byte characters

Will ORC provide a way to exclude certain multi-byte characters?

As a global company, we are aware that new candidates will enter multi-byte characters in certain fields such as name and address.  We anticipate that not all of our downstream vendors will be able to accept some of those characters when files are integrated between systems.  Will there be a way to restrict certain characters up front in ORC so that the characters are not passed on?  Or will there be a way to monitor and replace such characters before data is extracted?  For now, it is assumed that an HR professional would need to make the change.  Any advice
