Salary Amount Determined by Rates

Salary Amount Determined by Rates - Implementation Support

Content

We have an urgent need to be able to track an employees total base salary as two parts in two different currencies.  It appears that there has been ongoing effort from Oracle since around 2018 to enable this through using rates however it's unclear at what state this is in deployment.

docs.oracle.com (18b) - implement compensation has a detailed section on how to use rates in conjunction with payroll elements and salary basis.  It also seems to be hinted at  in 19B documentation, but there are no details.  Under Salary Basis types there is reference to "Salary amount is determined by rates" as a salary basis type - but outside of that, again no details. Despite that, I was able to complete the steps found in 18b documentation.  However; after creating the elements and rates the next step is to create a new salary basis using 'Salary Amount is Determined by Rates'.

Howdy, Stranger!
