How to verify if the email address typed by the user is valid

In the standard Engagement Cloud DCS chat login page as illustrated in the attached doc I have a customer requirement to check if the entered email address is valid for the standard field E-mail (Email).

Please let me know how to address this requirement to check the email address typed by the user contact is a valid email address.
