Update Current Annual Salary or Bonus Eligible Salary using role based override

We have a requirement to update the Current annual salary or Bonus Eligible Salary(dynamic column based on current annual salary) for few employees on the compensation worksheets being shared to manager's for the bonus inputs. We configured Role based override on Bonus Eligible Salary, column properties, but it doesnt allow overirdes. We are trying to make the edits from Administer Employees by selecting the employee, but the values are reverting to the original values and doesnt get saved. Are we missing anything here. Attaching the screenshots for reference.

Pls suggest if you have any alternative suggestion.
