When joining 3 subject areas in an OTBI report, is it better to add the common columns and hide them

A client has requested help in joining 3 subject areas in OTBI: Talent, Recruitment, and Core HR. What we did was join all 3 subjects areas with common elements and hide the columns we didn't need. Is there a better way to do it? Find attached a sample report.
