Summary

Free-tier database (ATP) autonomously shuts down on random intervals

Content

Starting about a month ago, the free tier ATP stops at random intervals and must be manually restarted from the cloud console.

Sometimes it is after an hour, sometimes after a week. Sometimes an inactivity warning message can be seen in the cloud console. I suspect it is all related to the 7 day inactivity detection, but in this case I, a data logger is always connected to the database and is inserting rows every few minutes.  Both committed data and application logs show rows inserted only minutes before the autonomous shutdown.

Howdy, Stranger!
