End of Life of TLS 1.1 - Security

This is a reminder announcement that that Oracle is winding down TLS 1.1 support to align with industry security practices.

This is a reminder to customers that as part of Oracle Security Policies and alignment to industry security practices, Taleo Enterprise Edition has ended support of the TLS 1.1 security protocol, and supports only TLS 1.2.  This has been communicated in multiple forums going back to 2018 . Oracle will be winding down TLS 1.1 access and capabilities. Support for TLS 1.1 will end April 15, 2020.

 

What is Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol?

This protocol is an industry standard protocol designed to protect the privacy of information communicated over the Internet. TLS assumes that a connection-oriented transport, typically TCP (Transmission Control Protocol), is in use. The TLS protocol allows client/server applications to detect the following security risks:
