Employee start date causing issues in submission of expenses


How do other companies handle the following?  Existing employee has a change in Responsibility Unit/Cost Center is effective as of a certain date, for example 1/1/2020.  Start date gets updated with 1/1/2020 in ERP to coincide with change. 

1. This employee needs to submit expenses prior to 1/1/2020 when under other RU/Cost Center.  Cannot submit because prior profile is expired.

2. Employees under the change employee need to submit their expenses (they have had no changes so their hire date is prior to 1/1/2020) but cannot. Get error:  The supervisor or Job level does not exist. (FUN-720337)
