What does canceling a goal do?

What does canceling a goal do?

Content

In Goals, under the Actions button, there is an option to Cancel.  What exactly does that do?  We don't do any training to use that option.  I accidentally cancelled a goal in one of our Test pods, and I see that it changes the status of the goal to "Canceled" (which is displayed in red, per the screenshot below), but what else does it impact, functionally?  Do canceled goals still get included on performance documents when they are created?  Why would you cancel a goal vs. just delete it?  We're trying to figure out if we just hide the option via Transaction
