How to terminate unrestricted elections when the employee is terminated?

There is no life event, running unrestricted on term date show still eligible, and can't add event 1 day after term

How are others handling the termination of unrestricted plans like 457(b) when the employee is terminated.  The life events are not recognized and we only have 1 unrestricted  life event to use so it is dependent on eligibility profiles.  On the termination date, the system does not recognize the change to assignment status as inactive yet, that occurs the next day.  Since the EE is now inactive, I can't get an unrestricted event to open and terminate the plans.
