The Best Practices Application Design chapter is new to the PCM Admin Guide.  PCM applications routinely handle logic designs with 100’s of rules resulting in 10’s of millions of allocation results.  PCM user’s desire for supporting complex allocation processes and ever increasing levels of detail require careful consideration of application and dimension design to achieve optimal performance. 

Recommendations in the Best Practices Guide are based on real world experiences in supporting customers with highly scaled applications. New users designing applications are advised to read the Brest Practices Guide and incorporating the concepts in their early stage designs.  This can help in avoiding the creation of performance bottlenecks that may not become apparent until production scale data is being processed.
