Integration of Job Profiles to HR data

IS there a way to use REST API's or something to have HR data put people into the appropriate Job ProfilesContent
I was looking to see if there was a way to have the system integrate (in our case SAP) HR data such that the job code in the HR system puts people into the correct Job Profile?
Has anyone done this? Love to hear how.
