Goal Actual Completion Date - make required and default to current date in NUX

Summary

We would like to make the Actual Completion Date of a goal required when status set to Completed

Content

We need to make the actual completion date of a goal required when the goal status is set to Completed.  Using NUX Pages

The field is hidden until the status is changed to the value of Completed.

In page composer, I made the field required.  However, then when I edit a goal and change the value to Completed, nothing happens.  The Actual Completed Date no longer displays, and I assume it's requiring a field that I can't see yet.

Thoughts?
