Does Vacation rule works for "Position Hierarchy" approval notifications?

We created a position hierarchy for requisition and sent it for approval. The approver was on vacation with vacation rule created.

But neither the notification was reassigned nor delegated to the new approver.

We tried changing the approval rules from "Position Hierarchy" to Single approver (the one who was on vacation) and the vacation rules triggered perfectly fine.

Does Vacation rule works for "Position Hierarchy" approval notifications? or are we missing something?
