Calculation of PTD from YTD balance

Is it possible to derive the PTD balance in FAH?

Hi

We are going to receive data extract from external sources with YTD balance periodically and the expectation is to derive the PTD or delta and post to Oracle GL. I understand that the data can be stored in XLA AE Headers and lines tables, however how do we compare the value and derive the delta / PTD values?  Not sure if this is feasible, appreciate if someone can provide any pointers.
