We are able to create Work Order for an Asset Number in an Organization without assigning that Organization as Maintenance Organization for that Asset Number. PFB Screenshots of Asset Number and Work Order for reference.

In this case, Please let us know what is the significance of giving Maintenance Org while defining the Asset Number ?
