Inside Bar Edge numbers will only render in black font

Hello!

I have built some management reports which contain the bar values 'Inside Bar Edge'. My columns are coloured, and I would like the text to be white. This renders fine when previewing in HTML, but when previewing in PDF or more importantly, when I embed the chart inside my Powerpoint doclet, the text is reverted to black. 

I have tried a number of other colours, but they all are render as black when not viewing in HTML. Interestingly, when the column value is 'Outside Bar Edge', the colour is maintained in PDF/when embedded in my doclet, this seems to only apply when 'Inside Bar Edge'.
