Referring internal candidates

How do I prevent employees from referring existing internal candidates?

Hello,

 

I'm curious to know how other companies handle employee referrals, especially in cases of employees referring other employees.  Since we can only disable the ability of referring existing candidates altogether, is there any workaround to prevent employees from referring existing internal candidates while allowing external candidates to be referred?

 

Any insights would be appreciated.
