Mapping two independent segments and values

Summary

Our client implemented Cloud GL and they also have EDMCS installed; Client has a requirement to map one independent segment (Initiative) with another segment for management reporting

Content

We have “initiative” segment in the GL Chart of accounts . We have a requirement to map the segment to multiple departments having different meaning/value. We need to translate the values for reporting purpose (Example below) and send the data to d/w. We are planning to setup a segment /node in EDMCS for each initiative department combination and add values; Export all Initiative-Departments to one consolidated file (Custom export) and load it to ERP valueset/lookup tables for internal ERP reporting. This approach seems quite cumbersome and would like to know the best approach to setup in EDMCS and import the values back to Cloud
