 Currently there are over 1.5 million unique items that over 60 vendors continuously update (monthly, quarterly, yearly etc), functioning as a Supplier Catalog available for customers to order from and have Drop Shipped to them. How can user item management be minimized, as many items are not sold?

How can a large number of items (in catalog, item master), most of which won’t be sold, be handled with minimal item management. Items offered from suppliers are constantly changing (deleted, added, price updated).
