We have been advocating our client to use numeric codes for child values and alpha codes for parent values per COA best practices. We were recently advised that some of our client's Cost Centre COA values (maintained in their external MDM system) include alpha numeric values. Changing these child Cost Centre values in their MDM system from alpha to numeric codes involves effort which the client would prefer to avoid if possible.

Would appreciate feedback on the following:

  • Have non-numeric codes as child COA values in Fusion implementations; and
