Planned Schedule vs Work Schedule

Trying to understand employee's schedule


There are two places where we can set employee's work schedule.
- Setup and Maintenance > Workforce Deployment > Workforce Information > Work Schedule Assignment Administration
- Home > My Client Groups > Time Management >  Planned Schedule

1st: I don't understand how to make sure that the two places are synchronized. When I set employee schedule using Work Schedule Assignment Administration, the schedule is reflected in Planned Schedule page and employee's Calendar (Me > Time and Absence > Calendar). But when I make a change to the shift of the day from Planned Schedule, the change is not reflected in Calendar.
