Change the display size of a field

Is it possible to change the display size of a field on an existing requisition?  We have added dffs to a requisition and one of those fields is comments.   Right now when a manager or recruiter goes to look at an existing requisition and goes to the details section of the requisition they see the comments but not all of the comments entered into the field appear and there is not a way to expand the field to view the entire comment.  

I tried setting the display size of the field to 250, saved the change and deployed the flexfield but that did not work.  I also tried page composer but could not find a way to edit that field.
