one Business Unit for entry and one Business unit for view purpose only

We have a requirement to assign X BU for entry purposes and Y BU is only for view purposes to the same user. User will able to do an entry for X BU but he can see only data of Y BU

Do we need to define a separate role for entry and view then give a data access set? will this work?
