Manager Department Hierarchy

I have been able to create a top down hierarchy in my report using Person Manager and CASE/WHEN statements however, I am now being asked to bring in the department for each manager at each level. When I look at Matrix Manager and Organization fields, nothing is populated and if I select a field under either of those folders, the report comes up with an error.

Does anyone know how to pull in the individual department for each manager at each level? I have attached the doc I used to implement the top down hierarchy.
