Number of Direct Reports that are Managers

Need to generate a report that shows, for a manager, which one of their direct reports is also a manager.

• There is a requirement to get, for a manager, the total number of direct reports and which one of those direct reports are contractors, interns, temp employees, white male, white female, etc. 
• It is also a requirement to pull, for a managers direct reports, the number of their direct reports that are also managers. 
• The manager flag is not being used in this particular system. I've tried a couple of different case statements and browsed the report sharing forum and the reporting forum but have not found a solution.
