Our business users are having trouble with Preventive Maintenance Work Orders showing up as late or past due.

Here is the scenario - 

We have a calendar based Maintenance Program for an asset that is scheduled to generate a work order every month. The labor on the work definition is estimated to be 2 hours. The resulting work order start and completion dates are therefore two hours apart. The problem is, the business doesn't consider the work order late until 30 days has passed from the start date or in some cases 7 days (depending on SLA). However in Oracle, the work order is late once the current date exceeds the planned completion date. Is there a way around this problem? I would
