Question on .catalog files

Hello Experts,

I got two questions (probably a weird ask) on BI catalog objects. In /analytics (OBIEE), the archive will create a .catalog file instead of a.xdo/m/rz files in xmlpserver.

1. Can we somehow open the .catalog files locally instead of the usual unarchive within Fusion. The catalog files should be some kind of a compressed file having the DM, report, metadata, security config file etc. So can it be unarchived locally using any tool?
2. Suppose, I have a bunch of catalog files (say 50) in my local desktop which I need to bulk upload to Fusion in a certain folder. Do we have some APIs to bulk upload .catalog files. I know of the availability of the APIs on the xmlpserver side.

Howdy, Stranger!
