Start Date Offer Field - Able to make Mandatory?

Hi Team,

Just wondering if there was a way to make the Start Date field as part of the Offer Layout a required field in Fluid/Taleo? The 'Start Date' Field isn't showing in the list of our Offer Fields / UDFs so cannot see a way to make this change? The offer field is greyed out (unable to edit) when viewing the Offer Layout section.
