Error when trying to end date a deduction in UDT

Content

We are trying to end date a deduction in our UDT that we no longer use. In doing so, we are receiving an error that the 'effective date cannot be earlier then the effective date of a child record'. Any ideas on what might be causing this error and how to resolve?
