How can I get the value of a payroll element into a Benefits Coverage Fast formula?

Hello

I've a requirement where we need to calculate the commissions received for an employee in the last 12 months of an Employee and calculate the coverage by adding to the annual salary.

The Payroll is not processed by Fusion therefore,we will send and receive the Elements from third party. We have created an Element to calculate this 'Commission-USA'

 

I tried this formula below but couldnt get any values. Is there any way to do it. I was suggested to use valuesets but is it possible to pull the Element Entry values for a given element between a specified period of time?
