Time calculation rule - absence creation and compensatory plan time creation in Projects and Payroll

I am using a time calculation rule to find the difference between daily scheduled hours and daily reported hours, a positive number (hours above scheduled) is passed as flexi hours earned to a compensatory plan in absences, a negative number (hours below scheduled) is passed as flex hours taken as an absence.
This is using a projects and payroll time card. Absences do not get costed against projects and therefore, do not need a project task or expenditure type.
Once the time calculation rule is executed, the flexi earned hours and flexi time hours both get calculated and created correctly however, the resulting time card entry is created with a project task and expenditure type. Rather than just the absence or compensatory time entry.
