Link between offering date and Activity date

We are able to create Activity dates later than the offering(ILT) end date. Example: Offering start date is: 5th April 2021. Offering end date is: 10th April 2021. But we are able to create ILT activities for 1st of February 2021(past date) and also for 10th may 2021(Future date). Both the activity dates does not come between the offering duration. Can you please explain the advantage of it? and why is there no restrictions available just like we have restriction for offering date and course date?
