Updating existing element entries using HSDL

I am in the process of updating element entries that are already on the employees' records and was hoping to do this via HSDL. When I try to upload, I keep getting this error: 'The effective dates on this new element entry are invalid. This entry causes an overlap with an existing entry for the same element Annual_Bonus.'

I have attached a screenshot of the template to show what fields I am updating. Also, I put the Multiple Entry Count at an extremely high number as that is something I read elsewhere to try.

How do I end date the current record so that I can update the entry with the new value? Is this possible through HSDL?

Howdy, Stranger!
