Add Employees Outside of Talent Review Meeting to Succession Plan during Meeting

We have created or added succession plans within the talent review meeting but found that we can only add employees who are being reviewed in that meeting to the succession plan. We can close out the meeting then go into the succession plan module and add anyone from the company to that plan, but the hope is to add them during the meeting to be as efficient as possible. Has anyone had experience doing this?
