Detail vs Summary flag

I have a report that prompts the user for a beginning and ending check date. Is there a way to add a flag to an OTBI parameter that when selected, the report will show the details entries (by check date) and when the flag is not checked, it shows a summary details without showing the check date but still selecting by the beginning/ending check dates?
