Changes in external candidate's profile does not reflect on the applied requisition

I have an external candidate who has applied on a requisition. We had a requirement to modify this candidate's previous work experience. When we navigate to the requisition> candidate's application, there is no option to edit the previous work experience(personal details are editable though).

When we navigate to this candidate's profile via candidate search, we are able to edit the data for this candidate and save. This change however does not reflect on the requisition that he/she has applied. 

Is this an expected functionality that candidate's data on the application will not update or am I missing something?
