default value from drop down through EL expression

looking to enter a default value in a field from its drop down, we cannot find anyway other than page composure.

Hi Experts, 

We are looking to enter a default value in one of the field from the drop down.

Navigation : Person Management > Payroll> Payroll Relationships> Payment Details> Time Card Required to Yes as default.

If anyone has worked on such solution or have any EL expression handy, please let us know.
