Create approval based on flex fields attached to the a GL Segment

Hey Everyone, we have a requirement where our client has potentially hundreds of different approvers based on a segment in the chart of accounts.  Is it possible to put a DFF on that particular segment where, when they create the segment in GL, they pick what user would approve for that particular value?  

If we use BPM for the approval rules, would it be possible to get at that DFF value?  

For example, they setup a value in their charge code list of AABBCC and pick John Smith in a DFF related to that charge code as the approver user for AABBCC.
